Justin Aubrey Taylor, 25, of the 2200 block of Aloha Avenue in Medford was allegedly speeding on Spring Street in Medford on April 17 when skateboarder Dane Burke attempted to cross the street. Taylor allegedly struck Burke and ran him over, an affidavit said. "The victim sustained serious physical injuries to his legs, hip, abdomen and head. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment," the affidavit said. Taylor allegedly showed signs of alcohol and drug intoxication and showed impairment while performing field sobriety tests, the affidavit said. He was arrested and taken to the Medford Police Department, where he allegedly blew a breath sample that showed a 0.14 percent blood alcohol level, the affidavit said. A driver with a 0.08 percent blood alcohol level or more is considered to be driving under the influence of intoxicants under Oregon law. Taylor has past convictions from 2010 through 2014 for possession of marijuana, possession of oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance, court records show.
