Sex offender wanted for parole breach The whereabouts of a convicted sex offender are unknown and Jackson County officials have issued a warrant for his arrest. Donald Gene Bowman, 48, was released from prison Nov. 19. As a condition of his release, Bowman was ordered to report to his parole officer. He has failed to do so, authorities said. Bowman was originally convicted on first-degree sexual abuse, stemming from an incident with an adolescent boy. He has prior convictions for public indecency and second-degree attempted rape. Conditions of Bowman's release from prison included reporting to the county parole office, taking anger management classes, undergoing sex offender treatment and substance abuse evaluation and registering as a sex offender with the Oregon State Police. He also was to have no contact with minors, undergo electronic monitoring and adhere to a county-mandated curfew. Authorities said Bowman has targeted victims who are known to him and those who are strangers. Drugs and alcohol are contributing factors to his behavior, according to Jackson County Community Corrections officials. Bowman is described as 5-feet, 6-inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone who comes into contact with Bowman is asked to call the police immediately.
