The senior guard scored 26 points in the first half as the Black Tornado carried a first quarter surge into the second half and coasted past host Willamette for a 87-57 Southwest Conference victory. “He was awesome,” said North Medford coach Scott Plankenhorn of Schireman.” He was doing it all, from the inside, outside, getting to the foul line and making layups.” What may have been most impressive about Schireman’s night was his efficiency. He shot 10 of 14 from the floor and was 11-for-12 at the foul line. He also added three 3-pointers and five assists before getting the fourth quarter off with his team up 75-39. Willamette kept things close for the first four minutes of the contest but the Black Tornado (10-2, 1-1 SWC) finished the period on a 17-5 run before running the lead up to 49-24 by halftime. Black Tornado senior guard Tyren Wolfe helped out by scoring 14 of his 18 points in the third quarter. Kaison Faust had 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals and Tre Holmes, who got the start in place of the injured Tucker Barry, scored eight points to go with four rebounds and three assists.
