White City woman jailed as suspect in robbery plot A second person has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Gold Hill bank. Maria Elena Scribner, 32, of 3765 Ave. G, White City, was arrested Thursday on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and first-degree theft by receiving. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $1 million bail. Police say Scribner is an associate of Edward Charles Brissette, 53, of Central Point, arrested last week on a first-degree robbery charge. Police believe he was one of the two gunmen who robbed Western Bank in Gold Hill on Dec. 11. "We're not done with this investigation by any means," Medford police Lt. Tim George said. Also on Thursday, Central Point police said that Brissette was a suspect in the robbery of the Purple Parrot in Central Point on Nov. 15. Brissette was charged with first-degree robbery in that case as well. In the Purple Parrot robbery, an older man walked into the restaurant/bar and handed a note to an employee. The robber took cash from the cash drawer and forced the employee to the floor. Scribner was lodged in the Jackson County Jail last week on a charge of possession of amphetamine.
