This meeting will be held to arrange for the work of the coming year. All parents are urged to be present, especially those who have recently come into the district. Fine weather, elegant roads, good music, splendid company, so why not attend the Gold Hill pavilion dance on Saturday evening. It's the popular amusement each week. Those intending bringing hogs to the fair will do a favor by making reservations with S. I. Brown, secretary, for pens, as the association has most all its pens spoken for and would like to know how many more will be needed. A party of Utah people interested in the sugar beet business are spending a few days looking over the valley with Medford as headquarters. Those in the party are: Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Chesseman, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Eccles, Miss Clarine Eccles, Fred Matthews, Walter Eccles of Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. Oscar K. Lewis and Mrs. M. A. Chesseman of Salt Lake. Robert Burch, W. J. Semon and family, Charlotte Richardson, Bernard Tucker and Ed Saltmarsh of Etna Mills arrived in Medford Thursday night and left Friday morning in their cars for Crater Lake. G. P. Putnam, secretary of Governor Withycombe and publisher of the Bend Bulletin and Carl Hinges of the government statisticians' office spent a short time in Medford this morning. They are officers in the Third Oregon stationed until recently on the border and are returning to Salem in their car. J. Frank Hanley, prohibition candidate for president, will begin his Oregon campaign with a speech in Portland September 15. The next day he will appear in Eugene. It is probable that he will stop in this city, and Ashland. A complaint was sworn out this morning before Justice Taylor by deputy game warden Ed Walker, charging Ralph Russell and Wallace Dinkins with running deer with dogs.
