Someone broke a window at the convenience store in the 400 block of South Oakdale Avenue, went in and stole beer and cigarettes on Sunday and Tuesday, Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said. Early Friday morning patrol officers noticed another broken window at the store and discovered the store had been burglarized again. The officers collected evidence, including a shoeprint left on broken window glass, Moran said. That evidence helped officers working on the earlier burglaries track down three boys, ages 14, 15 and 16. Police went to a home in the 300 block of South Oakdale Avenue where two of the boys live to talk to the teens, Moran said. Officers found three cartons of cigarettes and three cans of Steel Reserve malt liquor they believe were stolen in Friday’s burglary. All three teens face three counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of third-degree theft and a second-degree theft charge. The 15-year-old was lodged at the Jackson County juvenile detention center. Because of space limitations at the center, the other two boys were cited and released, Moran said.
