Driver in Highway 140 accident was over alcohol limit A Medford woman allegedly had consumed more than 3.5 times the legal alcohol limit when she drove the wrong way on Highway 140 Friday afternoon near Lake Creek, causing a head-on crash that seriously injured her and a Medford couple. The Oregon State Police on Monday revealed that a test of blood drawn from Marilyn Grace Page, 53, showed that she had a blood-alcohol level of .283 percent. Drivers in Oregon are considered intoxicated if their blood-alcohol level is at .08 percent or higher. Page, who lives on the 500 block of Wexford Circle, was taken to Providence Medford Medical Center, where her condition has since worsened, a hospital nursing supervisor said. She was listed in critical condition Monday, the supervisor said. Witnesses told an OSP trooper that Page's 1990 Acura Integra was headed eastbound in the westbound traffic lane at for extended periods of time, forcing oncoming vehicles to swerve out of her way. Anthony Edward Bock, 82, of Medford, could not swerve his 1992 Chevrolet Caprice out of Page's path in time, and the two cars collided almost head-on, police said. "She came over a rise, and (Bock) never saw her," OSP Lt. Dan Durbin said Monday. "It was like she appeared out of nowhere." Bock, of the 3500 block of Michael Park Drive, was taken to Providence hospital, where he was listed Monday in good condition, the nursing supervisor said. Passenger Minti Juliette Bock, his wife, was also injured in the wreck and was listed Monday in good condition. Page was not arrested as of Monday, and the OSP investigation in the crash is continuing, Durbin said. Page likely will face multiple felony assault charges as well as charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and possibly even reckless driving, Durbin said. Both cars were totaled, and the wreckage partially blocked both lanes of Highway 140, police said.   Mail Tribune Home | Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. | Dow Jones & Co., Inc. | Privacy | Contact Us Copyright 2001 Mail Tribune, Inc.
