Another boil order planned for Gold Hill Monday Dec 12, 2016 at 4:46 PM Another preventive boil order is coming to Gold Hill next week. The city's water distribution system will be shut down from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, while engineers replace distribution shutoff valves in the system, according to a news release. After the water service is restored, city officials say everyone should boil their water they are using for drinking, brushing teeth, washing produce, preparing food and baby formula, making ice and cleaning food contact areas until the evening hours of Thursday, Dec. 22. The precautionary measure is a guard against potentially harmful bacteria that could be in the supply due to the temporary Dec. 19 shutdown.
