Man accused of stabbing bed with sword near girlfriend Friday Jan 26, 2018 at 2:57 PM Jan 26, 2018 at 2:57 PM Vickie Aldous Mail Tribune @VickieAldous A Medford man is facing charges after allegedly biting his girlfriend and using a sword to stab a bed on which she was lying. Robert Louis Aros Jr., 23, of the 1400 block of Elaine Way in Medford, pleaded not guilty to charges of coercion, unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault, menacing and harassment Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court. He is scheduled to accept a plea agreement on Feb. 2, court records show. On Dec. 21, 2017, Medford police responded to a report of a domestic violence incident on Elaine Way. A woman told police Aros, her boyfriend, had stabbed the bed with a dull sword about a foot away from where she was on the bed. She said he also bit her in several places during the incident, according to a probable cause affidavit by Medford police. A police offer observed several bite marks on her body, including a bite mark on her left arm that was swollen and appeared to have broken skin, the affidavit said. Aros admitted to stabbing the bed but claimed his girlfriend was not in the bed at the time, the affidavit alleged. "He admitted to causing the bite marks and told me they were out of love and not anger," the affidavit said. In 2015, Aros pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon. The weapon was an instrument similar to metal knuckles, according to court documents.
