Home destroyed in Selma area fire By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Nov 21, 2022 04:40 PM A A Illinois Valley Fire District and crews from Rural-Metro Fire’s Wilderville station fight a two-story house fire that broke out Sunday night in the 1500 block of Hogue Drive, Selma. The cause of the fire is under investigation. [Rural Metro Fire - Josephine County photo] Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in rural Josephine County. The house fire was reported at 10:48 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Hogue Drive, Selma, according to a nres release issued before dawn Monday from Illinois Valley Fire District. Firefighters from the fire district and Rural Metro Fire - Josephine County’s Wilderville station responded to the fire, which ultimately engulfed the structure. Paramedics with American Medical Response ambulance services of Josephine County also responded. Chief John Holmes with the fire district did not immediately return a call from the Mail Tribune Monday afternoon, but the release states the cause of the fire is under investigation, very little of the fire spread to nearby wildlands, and the scene required extensive mop-up.
