Jones led the Mavericks to a 4-0 triumph in the opener, with the Colts battling back for a 7-6 win in the nightcap. Boyd had a one-hitter heading into the sixth inning, but a two-out single by Shea Bedortha gave the Mavericks a 2-0 lead. Boyd added five strikeouts and Jones struck out two in the shutout victory. The Colts’ Taylor Comford hit the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth inning and was a home run short of the cycle as South Medford rebounded in the second outing. South Medford (3-3) left a combined 18 runners on base for the twin bill.
