Spartans pick up win Jan 11, 2015 12:00 AM A A The Southern Oregon Spartans held on for a 3-2 win over Lake Tahoe during Western States Hockey League action at The RRRink on Saturday. Jonathon Lovelace’s second-period goal with 6:13 to go gave Southern Oregon a 3-1 edge before the Blue (5-22) drew within one late in the period. Mackenzie Wood and Johan Lovestrom each had one goal and one assist for the Spartans (23-8). Winning goalkeeper Tymen Edelkoort III made 23 saves.
