But what about those of us who live outside the city limits. Will Uber pick us up to take us to Medford? Or, will it pick us up in Medford and take us home? Will Uber pick us up anywhere? — Ronnie B., Medford Uber just came to Medford at the end of last year, and there were many questions about where Uber would pick people up and drop them off. The ride-sharing service has a license to operate in the city of Medford. In other words, Uber can pick up a fare in Medford and drop it to other areas of the county, including those outside the city. If you got picked up at the airport, you could get dropped off in Ashland, which doesn't yet have Uber. But, if you request an Uber in Ashland, you'd be out of luck. Since you were kind enough to provide your address, Ronnie, we determined that Uber would, in fact, pick you up there, at least according to the app. You live in a rural part of Medford (we won't say where) but the Uber app indicates you'd get a ride to downtown Medford. You could even get a ride to the Medford airport, though it would cost about $22 when we checked recently. If you're thinking of using Uber for some other area outside city limits, we suggest you go online and plug in your address.
