Phoenix-Talent club splits with Mavericks TALENT �� Eric Kessler provided the offense, while Brady Rhodes provided the pitching as the Phoenix-Talent Senior Babe Ruth team salvaged a split against the Medford Mavericks. Kessler belted a run-scoring triple in the second game to help the Pirates pick up the victory. Rhodes a left handed pitcher, was solid on the mound, striking out nine batters. The Mavericks won the opener, thanks in large part to a seven-run fifth inning. Russ Vandell sparked the Mavericks with a two-run triple. He finished the first game 3-for-4 with 3 RBI.
