[Oregon State Police photo] A second of four suspects will be sentenced later this week for his role in a 2019 Josephine County arson and homicide. A jury found Richard M. Webb, 39, guilty last week in Josephine County Circuit Court last week on two counts of first-degree murder, a count of first-degree arson and first-degree burglary for his involvement in the Jan. 16, 2019 fire in the 150 E. River St., Cave Junction, during which investigators found the body of 66-year-old Donald M. Thomas . Webb is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 23, Josephine County Circuit Court records show. According to an Oregon State Police issued Monday, the investigation had gone cold for 10 months in 2019. The break in the case came when a witness identified as Clarabelle Compton came forward, and provided a statement that named the four suspects. A second suspect, Justin Robert Mason, 31, pleaded guilty earlier this year in January and was sentenced to 75 months in April after pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter and first-degree burglary for his involvement in the arson and homicide. Two other suspects, identified as Kenny Liegh Webb, 37, and Dakota James Crow, 26, are scheduled to stand trial next year on similar murder, arson, and burglary charges. Crow also faces two additional counts of unlawful use of a weapon charges accusing him of using a flare as a weapon against two other victims that night.
