COLLEGE TRACK SOU's Maguin advances to 400-meter final Comment By SOU Sports Information MailTribune.com By SOU Sports Information Posted Mar. 6, 2015 at 7:05 PM By SOU Sports Information Posted Mar. 6, 2015 at 7:05 PM » Social News GENEVA, Ohio  — Southern Oregon's Amelia Maguin registered the fourth-best time of 25 entrants in the women's 400-meter dash preliminaries Friday afternoon, advancing to the final race at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Maguin, a two-time outdoor All-American who just missed qualifying for the 400 final last year, was seeded No. 7 coming into the meet at the SPIRE Institute. She finished in 56.31 seconds, a personal best in the event, and was the runner-up in the last of four heats. Orenthia Bennett of Southern University of New Orleans won Maguin's heat with the top preliminary time, 55.81 seconds. The top runner in each heat and the next four best times advanced to today's final, which is set to start at 9:55 a.m. Pacific Time.
