Phoenix sweeps to victory in opener Aug 31, 2017 12:00 AM A A PHOENIX — Junior setter Sofia Tringolo had 11 assists, four kills and four aces to lead Phoenix to a season-opening sweep of Brookings-Harbor, 25-16, 25-14, 25-15, in a nonleague match Wednesday. Senior outside hitter Kassidy Calhoun had 13 kills and three aces for the Pirates, who received a big boost in the middle from junior Katelyn Hansen (seven kills, one block) and senior Avery Reneau (four kills, five blocks, three aces). Brookings-Harbor (0-2) was originally scheduled to host the match but instead the Bruins traveled to Phoenix due to regional fires.
