Kevin Jantzer became the fifth straight Phoenix runner to win the race, crossing the line at 18:34. Senior Jeremy Natho led Hidden Valley with a third-place finish, followed by Dustin Filipek at seventh. Defending conference champion Mazama made a sweep of the girls honors: Jasmine Klauder broke the tape in 21:20 while the Vikings won with 33 points. CRUSADER INVITATIONAL — New Hope Christian junior Michael Mrkvicka ran away from the field in the boys 5K in the nonscoring meet at Bear Creek Park. Mrkvicka posted a winning time of 17:52. St. Mary’s sophomore Mike Seus made a strong late move to finish second (18:26), while Cascade Christian’s Nathan Lee took third. In girls, junior Rachel Novak of Hosanna Christian in Klamath Falls held off fast-closing Brittney Price of Lakeview for the victory in a time of 23:17.
