Lithia Springs Rotary accepting grant applications By Troy Ferguson For the Tidings Dec 04, 2016 12:00 AM A A The Rotary Club of Ashland Lithia Springs is now accepting applications for its 2016-17 Youth Program grants to fund various youth-related activities throughout the Rogue Valley. In addition, the club is accepting applications for its 2016-17 Community Program grants to support local community projects in Ashland and Talent which address basic needs and self-sufficiency issues. Youth Program grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded to area nonprofit organizations, schools or government agencies for programs that actively engage and benefit youth up to 18 years of age in the Rogue Valley. Prior awards have supported a variety of youth projects addressing literacy, food scarcity, arts and music education, and other extracurricular activities. Community Program grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to organizations working to address economic and community development, job creation, poverty reduction, health care and nutrition education, and hunger relief in Ashland and Talent only. These grants are a relative new offering by the club and reflect Rotary’s focus on tackling the most critical humanitarian challenges at home and abroad.
