Medford police early Monday arrested Chrismer on charges of felony fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was released Monday on his own recognizance. Drugs — Jason Ryan Staples, 31, of the 400 block of South Grape Street, Medford. Ashland police Monday arrested Staples on charges of possession of methamphetamine and furnishing false information to police. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $20,000 bail. Sex offender registration — Nicholas Dean Barre, 21, no address available. Eagle Point police Monday arrested Barre on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender and for violating the conditions of his probation on a former sex-crime conviction. He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $10,000 bail. Miscellaneous Jail releases — A total of 107 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 230 inmates. Of those, 17 were released before their scheduled court appearances, six were granted an early release from a sentence and 84 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
