RAIDER ROUNDUP: SOU women extend unbeaten run By SOU Sports Information Updated: Oct 07, 2022 11:35 PM A A HELENA, Mont. — The Southern Oregon University women’s soccer team extended its winning streak to three games and its unbeaten streak to five, getting it done on the road with a 2-0 defeat of Carroll (Mont.) on Friday afternoon at Nelson Stadium. Senior forward Sarah Mauk assisted the first goal and scored the next as the Raiders (5-4-2 overall, 4-1-1 Cascade Conference) broke through early in the second half to win on the Saints’ home field for the first time in team history. Carroll, which was unbeaten in five home outings entering the afternoon, fell to 7-3-3 overall and 4-2-1 in the CCC. The Raiders have shut out four consecutive opponents, a feat they’ve achieved three seasons in a row. Men’s Soccer SOU 1, CARROLL (MONT.) 0: At Helena, Mont., Adrian Villegas netted the lone goal in the 81st minute as Southern Oregon earned a Cascade Conference victory. The Raiders (7-4 overall, 4-2 CCC) have scored the game-winners in each of their last two outings with fewer than 10 minutes remaining. Volleyball LEWIS-CLARK STATE 3, SOU 1: At Lewiston, Idaho, Southern Oregon forced a fourth set but got no further in a 25-16, 25-22, 18-25, 25-17 loss in Cascade Conference action. Grecia Ung Enriquez and Lisi Langi posted 13 kills each and Cassidy Nelson had 12 for the Warriors (11-6 overall, 7-5 CCC) as they attacked at a .297 team average, the second-highest for an SOU opponent this season. The loss put the No. 23-ranked Raiders (13-6, 7-5) in a five-way tie for third place with LSCS, Bushnell, Evergreen (Wash.) and Oregon Tech. Hailey Van Well carried the Raiders with 16 kills on 44 swings and Simone Gordon attacked efficiently with 11 kills on 23 attempts.
