In addition to drumming up patriotic spirit, the rally is intended to increase public awareness about the global "green agenda" with a variety of speakers and programs, organizers said. The event includes concerts by country music superstar Joe Diffie at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. in the main arena. Tickets to the concerts are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. They are available at Ticketmaster and ticketmaster.com. Featured speakers at the rally include former Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth-Hage of Idaho at noon, followed by former Greenpeace leader Patrick Moore of Canada at 12:30 p.m. Chenoweth-Hage was known for speaking out against the environmental community during her years in Congress. Moore, who has a doctorate degree in environmental science, is now an outspoken opponent of environmental extremism. Rogue Valley resident Holly Swanson, the event’s local organizer, will speak at 1:30 p.m. Two years ago Swanson founded Operation Green Out!, a nonprofit group dedicated to removing what it believes is a political environmental agenda from public schools. National "Restore the Spirit Awards" will be given out at 2 p.m., followed by a presentation on the "state of the salmon" by James Buchal at 3:30. Other events include a barbecue from 4 to 6 p.m. Entertainment by the Sons of the Oregon Trail and the Wade Black Band will be provided from 5 to 6 p.m. People for the USA bills itself as a counter balance to environmental extremism. For additional information, contact Ric Costales of the People for the USA at 530-468-2698 or Swanson at 830-1446.
