The first meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Monday in the Douglas Fir Room in the Red Lion Inn, 200 N. Riverside Ave., Medford. The second is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday in the Gold Beach Fire Hall, 29592 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. The DEIS reviews the social, economic, and environmental effects associated with the commercial use of the lower portions of the rivers, according to Patty Burel, spokeswoman for the Rogue River- Siskiyou National Forest. During the sessions, agency representatives will review the management alternatives in the document. A question-and-answer period will be held, and the public will be given an opportunity to comment on the DEIS. The 45-day comment period, which began Nov. 26, concludes on Jan. 10.
