RCC program helps prepare Latinos for college Rogue Community College will host a weeklong event in September to help recent Latino high school graduates transition to college. The annual Helping Oregon Latinos Advance event is scheduled for Sept. 8-12 and aims to help 2012-2014 high school grads enrolling this fall at RCC, according to Nicole Sakraida, Discovery programs adviser. Students can earn two college credits for completing HOLA, and two students will receive $250 RCC scholarships. Students will research college majors and careers, map out what classes to take, learn college success tools, and identify how to get free money for college. They will explore the RCC Redwood Campus in Grants Pass, the Riverside Campus in Medford, and the Table Rock Campus in White City visiting academic, professional, and technical programs at each site. HOLA, which serves a maximum of 25 students, is funded by grants, scholarships, and Rogue Community College. Transportation across county lines will be provided. In order to participate, students need to complete the RCC admission process, placement test, and new student orientation. Registration for HOLA ends on Sept. 5.
