Lund walked to open the inning and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Jeff Hendrix. KJ Harrison was walked intentionally, which set up King, who was pinch hitting for Joe Gillette. On his seventh pitch against reliever Kyle Davis, King laced a grounder through the right side of the infield and Lund beat the throw from right fielder AJ Ramirez. King has two at bats in the series against the Trojans, and three RBIs. He drove in two on a ground-rule double in the eighth on Friday. On Saturday, the Beavers managed five hits against three USC pitchers but made them count. Lund, who went 3-for-3 to tie his season best, tripled in the first and scored on a safety squeeze from Hendrix. Hendrix drove in his second run of the game in the third when he hit a sharp single to left, enabling Caleb Hamilton to score. Both starting pitchers finished with quality starts but neither came away with a win to show for their efforts. OSU’s Drew Rasmussen struck out seven, walked three and allowed seven hits and two runs in eight innings. The Trojans’ Kyle Twomey scattered four hits with four strikeouts and a walk in seven innings. The win went to OSU freshman Sam Tweedt, who picked up his team-leading fifth victory of the season. He worked a scoreless ninth. Softball OREGON 10-2, LOUISIANA 2-1: At Eugene, No. 2 Oregon finished a three-game sweep of No. 9 Louisiana by taking both ends of the doubleheader. The second game went eight innings. Oregon improved to 41-5 on the season and has won 11 straight. After opening the day with a second straight run-rule win over the Ragin' Cajuns, the Ducks came out flat in the finale. Oregon had just three hits and trailed 1-0 entering the bottom of the seventh, when Koral Costa hit a one-out double. Costa was thrown out at home on an infield single by Danica Mercado, but Mercado advanced to second on a walk, took third on a wild pitch and scored when Nikki Udria reached on a two-out error. Cheridan Hawkins (23-3), who got the final out of the seventh, pitched around a single in the top of the eighth. The Ducks’ Jenna Lilley led off the bottom of the inning with a single, advanced to third on a bunt single and an error, then scored on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Janelle Lindvall. Udria, who scored four runs in the opener, was 3-for-5 with three walks on the day. Lilley went a combined 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs and two walks, and Costa had a three-run double in the first game. Track and Field DUCKS SECOND: Oregon's men's 4xMile relay placed second the Penn Relays. The team of Daniel Winn, Johnny Gregorek, Will Geoghegan and Edward Cheserek finished in 16:18.93. The Ducks held a slight edge through the first three legs as Winn, Gregorek and Geoghegan each ran 4:01 mile splits. Coming around the final turn, it became a two-man race between Cheserek and Jordan Williamsz of Villanova. Williamsz was too much for Cheserek as he finished just ahead of the Oregon sophomore in 16:18.07. Oregon finished the weekend with two Penn Wheels, winning the men’s distance medley relay and the women’s sprint medley relay on Friday.
