However, the five goals he scored in a 9-0 win seemed to be the perfect remedy. "He came up to me about two minutes before the game saying he wasn’t feeling too good," Mustang coach Tim Hannah said. "But I think the first few goals cured his ills." Chapman scored from the opening whistle, in the fourth and seventh minutes and again in the 27th minute to give Hidden Valley a 4-0 lead. The Mustangs (7-3, 6-3 Skyline) moved into third place in the conference with the win. Advertisement After assisting Joe Guevara on the Mustangs’ fifth goal, Chapman scored yet again. "That’s the most goals I’ve ever seen anyone score in my seven years here," Hannah said. "I’m not sure if it’s a record, but it’s definitely the most in recent history." Both Guevara and Nelson scored two goals to complete the Mustang rout. Greg Miller earned the shutout in the net for Hidden Valley. Cross Country CRESWELL INVITATIONAL — At Creswell, the Phoenix girls finished sixth out of 12 teams with 149 points at the Creswell Invitational. Marci Klimek was the top Pirate finisher with a time of 21 minutes, 17 seconds. Coquille’s Holly Dieu took first in 18:44, while Philomath won the team title with 68 points. North Valley’s Ashley Gilkey grabbed fifth with a time of 20:30, Hidden Valley’s McKenzie Jones was 15th in 21:27, Rogue River’s Allegra Fety placed 21st in 21:49, and Kate Hoskin of Cascade Christian was 85th in 24:22. In boys, Hidden Valley and North Valley finished 10th and 11th, respectively, while Phoenix took 13th. Elmira won the team title with 145 points. Oakridge’s Brad Taylor won the individual title with a time of 15:48. Phoenix’s Kevin Jantzer finished 16th in 17:33, Hidden Valley’s Jeremy Natho was 25th in 17:48, and North Valley’s Levi Roudebush took 29th in 17:55.
