Ducks add top recruit; is Bol next? Friday Nov 17, 2017 at 6:31 PM Nov 17, 2017 at 6:31 PM Eugene Register-Guard EUGENE — Basketball’s early signing period ended on Wednesday, but one of Oregon’s top targets built the drama for another day. Oregon coach Dana Altman wasn’t going to spoil the secret of Will Richardson, a guard from Georgia who announced Thursday night that he signed with Oregon. “We’ll see what happens,” Altman said Thursday afternoon when asked if he had letters of intent from any additional recruits. “They’ve got a couple weeks to get them in, so I guess they can hold us hostage a little longer.” Richardson is the third player known to have signed a letter of intent with Oregon during the weeklong signing period, but Bol Bol — a 7-foot-1 center ranked as the No. 3 recruit in his class — is also expected to announce that he has signed with the Ducks. The signing of Richardson moved Oregon’s class to No. 8 in the 247Sports.com rankings, up from No. 26. The addition of Bol could put the Ducks at the top of that list. The 6-foot-2 Richardson is a combo guard who plays at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, and is considered one of the top 50 recruits in his class. He picked Oregon over Georgia and Gonzaga. “I see myself coming in as a leader and a lead guard that can play on and off the ball,” he told Evan Daniels of 247Sports. “Can make the right pass and lead the team verbally and be a local leader on the court.” Oregon also confirmed that small forward Louis King and power forward Miles Norris signed last week. The 6-foot-8 King is ranked as the No. 16 recruit in the nation by 247Sports.com, averaging 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds last season for Hudson Catholic in Jersey City, N.J. Norris, a 6-10 forward who transferred to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for his senior year, is the No. 73 prospect, according to 247Sports.
