Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend December 2, 2005 Emergency Services Felony arrests Drugs — Paul Emanuel Norton, 22, of the 400 block of Columbus Street, Medford. Medford police Wednesday arrested Norton on charges of possession of methamphetamine, a probation violation and two counts of failure to appear in court. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Thursday on $15,000 bail. Drugs — Bobby Joe Amos, 24, of the 1700 block of Stewart Avenue, Medford. Amos appeared Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with possession and delivery of hallucinogens. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Coercion — Gary Daniel Canedy, 26, of the 1500 block of North Second Avenue, Gold Hill. Gold Hill police Thursday arrested Canedy on charges of harassment, two counts of resisting arrest, coercion and menacing. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Thursday on $20,000 bail. Drugs — Mark Luther Leiby, 57, of the 400 block of Hamilton Lane, Prospect. The Jackson County Narcotics Enforcement Team Thursday arrested Leiby on charges of manufacturing, delivery and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in jail, where he remained late Thursday on $50,000 bail. Vehicle theft — Paul John Rodrigues, 45, of the 100 block of Mistletoe Street, Medford. Medford police Thursday arrested Rodrigues on a charge of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was lodged in jail and released after posting bail. Structure fire Jackson County Fire District 1 crews responded Thursday to a structure fire in the 2500 block of Rogue River Highway. Crews arrived on the scene at around 3:45 p.m. to find the one-story house’s attic burning with the rest of the dwelling full of smoke, District 1 Capt. Mark Northrop said. A third alarm was sounded and crews from District 6, Grants Pass Fire and District 3 arrived on the scene to assist. Crews gained control of the blaze at around 5:30 p.m. after nearly 80 percent of the home was destroyed, Northrop said. The cause is under investigation. No one was home at the time of the fire.
