Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend April 11, 2006 Tony Paulo Vaa Meth Watch: Warrant outstanding for probation violation EDITOR’S NOTE : Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon, in cooperation with the Mail Tribune and KTVL Channel 10, is participating in "Meth Watch," a program intended to combat the manufacture and sales of methamphetamine in Southern Oregon. Each week, Meth Watch will focus on a person wanted by Jackson or Josephine county law-enforcement agencies for delivery and/or manufacture of methamphetamine. Tony Paulo Vaa is wanted by Medford police for violating probation conditions on 2003 convictions of delivering meth and first-degree child neglect. A warrant for his arrest was issued in August. Vaa is described as a 27-year-old Asian man standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and several body piercings, including his left ear. Three dots are tattooed on his left wrist, the word "crisp" on his left hand and the word "Anita" on his upper right arm. He also has scars on his left leg and right hand and a 20-inch scar on the inside of his right leg. He may be using the aliases of T-Bone Vaa or Tony Jaa. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case or any other unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous. Meth statistics In conjunction with Meth Watch, the Mail Tribune compiles weekly statistics to demonstrate the effects of methamphetamine on our community. Arrests — Nine people were arrested last week and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on meth-related charges. Seven were arrested for possessing meth, one for possessing and delivering meth and one for possessing, delivering and manufacturing meth. Two arrests were in conjunction with other criminal charges. Court appearances — Four people appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court last week on indictments charging them with possessing meth. One defendant’s indictment included other criminal charges. Child welfare — The local child welfare office of the state’s Department of Human Services removed three children from two homes last week and placed them into protective custody because of meth use in the family. Addiction recovery — Twenty-three meth addicts entered outpatient treatment last week at OnTrack Inc. Two meth addicts completed inpatient treatment last week at Addictions Recovery Center. Three people were admitted last week to ARC’s sobering center while under the influence of meth.
