According to the Medford Police Department, police and fire personnel took a report about 3:14 p.m. that a driver had struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Crater Lake Avenue and Brookhurst Street. The pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman, had been crossing the street when she was struck, the news release said. Police say the woman — whose name they aren't releasing — is currently listed in critical condition at Rogue Regional Medical Center. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the accident and closed off the intersection Saturday. Police aren't releasing the name of the driver.
