Ashland sweeps in SOC swim meet ASHLAND � Aaron Nelson and Brad Scoles participated in four victories each to lead the Ashland High boys swim team to a three-way victory on Thursday. Nelson won the 200 freetyle (2:03.5) and the 100 backstroke (1:08.73) while Scoles took the 200 individual medley (2:15.98) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.13). Both Grizzly swimmers also participated on the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays. Scoles swam a sizzling 49.8-second split in the 400 realy. The Ashland boys racked up 131 points compared to 57 for South Medford and 51 for Eagle Point. On the girls side, Ashland held off South Medford by a 133-116 count. Haley Scoles won the 50 freestyle (28.40) and the 100 freestyle (1:03.50) while Liz Alrick claimed the 100 butterfly (1:13.12) and the 100 breaststroke (1:16.73) to pace the Grizzly girls. Scoles and Alrick also swam legs on Ashland�s winning 200 freestyle relay, and Alrick sped to a 57.8 split on the Grizzlies� 400 relay that finished second. South Medford�s Ashley Johnson bagged the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle and swam legs on the Panthers� triumphant 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
