North, Sunset try again today to play softball The North Medford High softball team's first-round playoff game against Sunset at Fagone Field on Monday was rained out. The Class 4A tournament opener for both teams has been rescheduled in its entirety for noon today, still at Fagone Field. With the score 0-0 with one out, a Sunset runner at second base and a one-ball count on the Apollos' Andi Peterson in the top of the seventh inning, the game was delayed. When the rain didn't let up after 20 minutes or so, and both dugouts filled with water, the umpires called the game. That ruling washed away all of Monday's action, as today's game will begin anew. The Black Tornado's Keri Sevano and the Apollos' Michelle Hext are expected to resume today what was a classic pitching duel until the rain came Monday. North and Sunset are fighting for the right to face West Linn, a 1-0 winner over Benson on Monday, in a second-round game Wednesday.
