Witnesses report he entered the business and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. He then reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money and left the business out the back door. The robbery suspect is described as 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing a black knit ski mask, with an oblong hole for both eyes, but no hole for the nose and mouth, Medford police said in a news release. He was also reported to be wearing a light green fleece-type pullover, dark-colored pants and black shoes. Witnesses described the suspect’s skin as light with a distinct freckled complexion around the eyes. A perimeter was set up and a police K-9 unit was brought in, but the suspect was not located. The only people present in the Purple Parrot were two employees, who were not harmed, according to the report. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Medford Police Department’s criminal investigation section at 774-2230.
