Woman got 20 days and probation in $172k theft By Mail Tribune staff Dec 20, 2019 07:00 PM A A Is there a follow-up story on Christine Ramirez, the woman charged with taking more than $170,000 from her boss earlier this year? — No name given, via email Christine Alana Ramirez, 41, of Medford, pleaded guilty earlier this month to multiple felony counts in the case. On Dec. 9, Ramirez was sentenced in Jackson County Circuit Court to 20 days in jail and five years of probation after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated first-degree theft and five counts of aggravated identity theft surrounding numerous unauthorized transactions from her employer between April 2017 and May 2019. At the time of her arrest, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies found evidence of more than 1,200 unauthorized purchases and transactions made in the name of her boss amounting to $172,675 that Ramirez reportedly made between April 2017 and May of 2019. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ramirez in May, while she was reportedly in the process of loading up a PODS container for a move to Florida. Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Lorenzo Mejia set strict restitution payment deadlines in his sentencing order filed Dec. 9. Ramirez will be required to make restitution payments of $4,250 by July 1, 2020, a second $4,250 restitution payment by Dec. 31, 2020 and at least $2,500 every three months thereafter while she’s on probation.
