Edward Earl Foster Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jun. 28, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Jun. 28, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Edward Earl Foster Ed Foster, 85, passed away May 30, 2015 at his home in Medford, Ore. He was born in 1930 in Coalville, Utah to Earl and Edith Foster. He grew up in Reedsport and Pendleton, graduating from Pendleton High School in 1948. After high school he attended business school in Spokane, Wash. for two years. He then served in the Army during the Korean War. Following his military service he owned a service station with his dad in Springfield, Oregon where he met Elaine when she stopped in to fuel up her car. Ed and Elaine celebrated 60 years of marriage in February 2015. In 1965 Ed, Elaine, and their two boys moved to Medford when he became purchasing agent for Medford Corporation. He was active in Boy Scouts serving as a District Rep while in Springfield and scoutmaster of Troop 44 at Lone Pine Elementary School in Medford. He retired from Medco in 1985. He enjoyed camping, traveling in their motor home, fishing, and gardening. Spending time with family was a real joy to him. Ed is survived by his wife Elaine; his two sons, Dale (Judy) and Dean (Barbara); six grandchildren, Brad (Jenny), Brent (Nora), Leann (Brian), Kira (Josh), Jordan, and Bethany (aka Roxy); and three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Suzanne, and Breanna (Cade passed away June 3, 2015). He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Judy; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah. A memorial service will be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery Chapel, 2763 Riley Rd, Eagle Point at 2 pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2015. A gathering to celebrate his life will follow at the Ashpole Community Center, Eagle Point City Hall, 17 S Buchanan.
