The RiverDogs pushed across the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh en route to a 4-3 amateur baseball victory over the Portland Titans at Harry and David Field Teaters allowed one hit and struck out one in his relief stint as the RiverDogs won for the first time in five outings. Strate opened the seventh with a double and was sacrificed to third by Phil Ouellette. Corey O’Neill hit a sacrifice fly to score Strate and give Southern Oregon a 4-3 lead. The RiverDogs erased a 1-0 deficit with two unearned runs in the second inning. Dan Mecum and Tyson Nelson both reached base on errors, then Strate belted a double to score both runners. Southern Oregon took a 3-2 lead in the third when O’Neill opened with a single and scored when Teaters’ grounder went under the glove of first baseman Spencer Omalza for an error. Advertisement Teaters went 2-for-4. The RiverDogs are back in action at 1 p.m. today when they host the Titans in a doubleheader at Harry and David Field. NORTH MEDFORD MAVERICKS 3-9, NORTH JACKSON EAGLES 0-8 — At Eagle Point, Shea Bedortha pitched a three-hit shutout to outduel Logan Fosenburg in the opener of an American Legion A Area 4 doubleheader Thursday at The Yard. In the nightcap, North Medford (2-1) rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to complete the sweep. Bedortha struck out 10 and walked two for the Mavericks, while Fosenburg allowed three hits and one earned run in also going the distance. Jordan Bostwick had two hits and drove in the winning run for North Medford. In Game 2, the Eagles (0-2) scored five runs in the sixth to take an 8-5 lead. But North Medford capitalized on three North Jackson errors, a triple by Bostwick and singles by Aaron Marlia and Mason Yeigh to take back the lead in the seventh. For the Mavericks, Bostwick and Yeigh each collected two hits. North Jackson received two hits apiece from Aaron Willis and Johnny Harvey.
