Rogue River police bust two on drug charges Wednesday Aug 15, 2007 at 12:01 AM ROGUE RIVER — A man and woman claiming to be medical marijuana providers were arrested at a Rogue River hotel on Friday, police said. ROGUE RIVER — A man and woman claiming to be medical marijuana providers were arrested at a Rogue River hotel on Friday, police said. Patrons at the Inn at the Rogue Best Western on Rogue River Highway called police after smelling pot smoke coming from a guest's room, Rogue River Police Chief Ken Lewis said. Police confiscated 105 grams of marijuana and 121 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms with the help of Josephine County drug dog Sadie, Lewis said. "They claimed they were traveling the country providing 'medical marijuana' for their clients," Lewis said. "We found no evidence that either had a medical marijuana card." Arrested were Ronald E. Burke, 36, of Culver City, Calif., and Amber Jolene Ostoja, 32, of Hood River. Burke was charged with felony manufacture, possession and delivery of marijuana and felony possession of hallucinogens. Ostoja was cited for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in September in Rogue River Municipal Court on this charge.
