Local booster groups prepare for Civil War Local booster groups for Oregon and Oregon State universities will hold meetings this coming week in preparation for Saturday's Civil War showdown between the schools' respective football teams. The Duck Club of Southern Oregon meets at noon Wednesday at the Red Lion, 200 North Riverside, Medford. Doors open at 11:30. The cost of lunch is $10. Oregon coach Mike Bellotti will talk via speakerphone, athletic director Bill Moos and other department officials will be in attendance, season highlights will be shown, raffle prizes will be awarded and a local high school band will perform. For information, call Augie Avila at 773-5487. The Oregon State Beaver Huddle is at noon Thursday at the Rogue Valley Country Club. Coach Dennis Erickson will be on a conference call, and AD Mitch Barnhart will be in attendance. There also will be highlights shown and prizes raffled. To RSVP, call Nathan Pine at 245-3123.
