It's not over quite yet. A bit more wet snow and freezing rain has fallen on the Siskiyou Pass, parts of the Cascades, Crater Lake and Sexton Summit today. Oregon Department of Transportation road cameras show snow continuing to fall on the Siskiyou Summit, though it does not seem to be affecting traffic or accumulating on Interstate 5. The temperature at 2 p.m., however, was 27 degrees, so motorists should be wary of ice. According to the Trip Check website, chains or traction tires are required on the Mt. Ashland Ski Road, but the chain requirement has been removed from the Siskiyou Pass. Motorists are still asked to keep chains in their vehicle in case conditions change. The Mt. Ashland Ski Area is open, with the mountain reporting 55 inches of snow at mid-mountain and 49 inches of new snow in the past seven days. Forecasts for nearby Parker Mountain say an additional half-foot of snow was expected to fall today at higher elevations. Snow and downed trees on Highway 66 east of Ashland have closed the roadway between mileposts 20 and 40. Crews are at work getting the trees removed, but there isn't an estimated time for when the highway is expected to reopen.  A mob of highway closures remains in effect near Crater Lake National Park, including stretches of highways 62, 230 and 138. ODOT Trip Check cameras show a snow-packed Highway 140 near Lake of the Woods. The rain and snow is supposed to continue tapering off into tonight, with a chance of fog forecast through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service website. A bit of a break is expected Tuesday and part of Wednesday. Rain is then expected to return to the valley floor Wednesday night into at least Friday, the site says. — Ryan Pfeil
