Estremado cleans up at Speedway WHITE CITY - The races for the leads keep heating up at the Southern Oregon Speedway. Dan Estremado was locked and loaded all night long in the Littrell Auto Parts Dirt Modifieds, winning his heat, the trophy dash and the 25-lap main event on Saturday night. The Gold Hill driver took the top spot early in the main event and was never seriously challenged despite several yellow flags and re-starts. The 1999 track champion, Estremado strengthened his hold on third place with the victory. Dennis Silva, second in the points, was second in the feature while division leader Jay Hinton Jr. was third. The latest chapter in the battle for Les Schwab Pro Stock honors was dedicated to Frank Word III after the Grants Pass driver won the 25-lap feature. Word III shaved a few points off Jim Walker Jr.'s lead in the point standings with the victory, holding off Walker Jr. and Tony Walker after a restart on the 19th lap. Word III had a comfortable advantage before the restart. He managed to hold off Walker Jr., who nipped his brother Tony Walker for second place. Doug McVae broke through for his first feature win of the season in the D&S Harley-Davidson Dwarf Cars, taking honors in the 15-lap main event. McVae started the night in last place in the division before winning his heat and the feature. The Dwarf Cars will be featured at the Speedway the weekend of August 9-11 when the West Coast Nationals return. With front-runner Patrick Lanigan sidelined by an early-race flat tire, Jim Hill took the top spot in the Bleachers Sports Bar Mini Stocks. The Grants Pass driver, who won 11 features last season, took the checkered by a comfortable margin over runner-up Mike Higbee.
