Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend April 22, 2006 Man faces multiple ID theft, forgery charges Medford police have arrested a man on charges of identity theft and forgery after he allegedly stole checks from a roommate and cashed them throughout the county. In January and February, Shawn Harrison Kyker, 30, of the 400 block of Oak Tree Circle in Medford, allegedly wrote forged checks at several retail outlets in Jackson and Josephine counties, said Lt. Tim George. "As of right now we have him costing the victim approximately $2,000," George said. Kyker has been lodged in the Jackson County Jail since April 9, when he was charged with vehicle theft and was the subject of six arrest warrants. On April 18, two counts of first-degree forgery and first-degree theft were added against him. He has an extensive criminal history with arrests for possession of methamphetamine and on weapons charges. Kyker remained lodged late Friday on nine counts of identity theft, nine counts of second-degree forgery, five counts of second-degree theft and racketeering. His bail was set at $121,000.
