Jane A. Bentley Friday Aug 19, 2016 at 2:00 AM April 10, 1950 - August 13, 2016 Jane Bentley passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the age of 66, due to complications from acute myeloid leukemia. She was diagnosed March 23, 2016 and fought courageously the entire time to beat it, as she loved her family and her life. Jane was born April 10, 1950 to William and Luane Lichty of Huron, S.D. She graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor degree in nursing. She had been a practicing nurse for over 40 years with Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. Jane loved spending time outdoors and taking walks, knitting, spending time with family/friends, and water aerobics. Jane had a unique gift in this world “the gift of caring” for others and she has touched many lives with this gift. Jane was vibrant, healthy, and active right up until her diagnosis in March 2016. She continued to have a positive outlook as she fought her battle with Leukemia. Jane was a loyal, loving, and supportive wife to Lonnie Bentley, mother, friend, sister, and grandmother who affected many lives with her caring and kind nature. She is survived by her three children, Lonnie Bentley Jr, Mitchel Bentley (Rhonda), and her daughter, Leslie Brenton (Scott). She is also survived by her four grandsons, Tristen (20), Trevor (17), Brock (10), and Dylan (7); her mother, Luane Lichty; her brother, Lee Lichty (Marla); and sister Judy Boomsma (Dave). Her death was preceded by Ann Bentley, Lonnie Bentley Sr., and Levi Bentley. The family would like to thank all of the staff at OHSU for saving our Mom’s life, and also the staff at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center for all of the care they provided. We will celebrate her life and pay tribute to Jane at 5:30 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd, Central Point, Ore. with a reception immediately following.
