Child set fatal blaze, officials say A child who played with fire last week set off a blaze in a Central Point mobile home that killed a baby boy and burned his 23-year-old mother. According to officials from Jackson County Fire District 3, an investigation into the fire revealed it was ignited by a juvenile in the living room area of the single-wide mobile home on Gebhard Road. Because the case involves a juvenile, fire officials on Monday would not provide specifics about the child. More detailed information about the cause of the fire also was unavailable Monday night. Kelly Leffler, a single mother who lived in the mobile home with her 6-month-old baby, Tilano, and a 4-year-old son, remained in critical condition late Monday at the Emanuel Burn Center in Portland. She was burned in the blaze that broke out about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Her infant son, found by firefighters in a back bedroom, was pronounced dead at the scene.   Mail Tribune Home | Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. | Dow Jones & Co., Inc. | Privacy | Contact Us Copyright 2001 Mail Tribune, Inc.
