Spartans snap four-game skid By Staff report Oct 21, 2018 07:29 PM A A Eric Vanderhoff scored two goals and dished out two assists and the Southern Oregon Spartans beat the West Sound Admirals 4-3 to snap a four-game losing streak in Western States Hockey League action Sunday afternoon at The RRRink. Vanderhoff scored what proved to be the game-winning goal off an assist by Erich Marschall with 3 minutes, 49 seconds to go in the third period — the Spartans’ second goal of the final frame. West Sound’s Cory Kane found the net with 1:07 left to keep the Admirals’ hopes for a three-game series sweep alive, but Spartans keeper Jerimiah Clark wasn’t beat the rest of the way. Michele Vignoli Sanin, Miroslav Smid and Logan Emery also scored a goal apiece for the Spartans (3-5), with Sanin and Smid also adding assists. Southern Oregon next faces the Seattle Totems, Thursday in the Olympicview Arena in Seattle.
