Medford police warn of address change scam Saturday Jan 28, 2017 at 2:56 PM Jan 28, 2017 at 2:56 PM Local report A new mail theft scam has hit two local households, Medford police say. Two separate Medford residents reported Friday that their mail had been rerouted to a California address after unknown suspects submitted address change forms with the U.S. Postal Service, according to a Medford police Facebook post. The stolen mail was reportedly rerouted to an address belonging to an apartment in Los Angeles, according to the post. A call to Medford police was not immediately returned Saturday. Medford police said detectives are working with federal authorities to investigate the case, saying the crime is particularly concerning because it's happening close to the time when many people receive their tax refunds in the mail. Anyone who has seen a sudden, unexpected stop in their mail should contact the post office.
