RCC claims men’s soccer crown By Mail Tribune staff Updated: May 22, 2021 07:58 PM A A SALEM — The Rogue Community College men’s soccer team wrapped up Northwest Athletic Conference South Region season in first place with a 2-0 victory Saturday over Chemeketa. The title was the Ospreys’ (4-2) first in six years of existence. RCC took a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute, when Randy Rodriguez drove the ball down the right side before playing it to Jhoel Sarraude, who headed it in. In the second half, Sarraude capitalized when a Chemeketa player was issued a yellow card in the 88th minute. Sarraude converted the penalty kick, and the score held up.
