MISSING GIRL Vigil planned for Ashland girl who's been missing since Nov. 29 MailTribune.com Writer Posted Dec. 13, 2014 @ 12:16 pm Posted Dec. 13, 2014 @ 12:16 pm » Social News A Candlelight Vigil to Bring Hannah Home is planned at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Ashland Plaza. Candles will be provided.  Organizers say they hope to shine some light on the disappearance of 17-year-old Hannah Thomas-Garner, of Ashland, who police consider a runaway and who has been missing since Nov. 29. That evening,  Thomas-Garner attended a high school party at a gravel pit near mile marker 13 on Dead Indian Memorial Road in Ashland, then never returned home. Her blue 2012 Ford Focus  was found damaged and abandoned Dec. 1 in Mt. Shasta City, Calif.  During an investigation, Ashland police learned Thomas-Garner planned to run away with two other girls. A credible witness reported to police that he picked up Thomas-Garner on Interstate 5 at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 in the Mt. Shasta area and gave her a ride to a coffee shop in Dunsmuir, Calif. He said she appeared to be healthy, in good spirits and traveling south to the Fresno area or somewhere warm. A second witness reported seeing a girl matching Thomas-Garner's description hitchhiking on Interstate 5 at  11 a.m.  in the Dunsmuir area. One of the girls backed out of the runaway scheme; the other,  15-year-old Sylvia Davis, was found safe Dec. 5 in Humboldt County, California. Thomas-Garner is 5-foot-6, weighs 137 pounds and has blond hair and blue eyes.  Anyone with additional information about Thomas-Garner's whereabouts is asked to call Ashland police at 541-482-5211.
