Spring yard sales kick off this weekend By Buffy Pollock Posted Apr 27, 2018 at 6:30 PM Updated Apr 27, 2018 at 6:51 PM Yard-sale season is here. A slew of citywide sales happen every spring (and fall), and the spring season kicks off this week. Whether you're having a sale or are in search of one, this list will provide a road map for selling or shopping. Eagle Point Spring Sale Kicking off this year's list is the Eagle Point Golf Course Community Spring Sale, which started Friday and continues Saturday and Sunday at more than 500 homes along Shasta Avenue, Eagle Point Drive, Fairway Ridge and R.T. Jones Boulevard. Sales will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Friends Of The Animal Shelter Sale Also this weekend, bookworms who need new reading material should check out the "pay what you want" sale at Jackson County Animal Services, 5595 S. Pacific Highway. Sale times are noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds go to help shelter cats and dogs. Central Point Spring Sale Central Point's citywide spring yard sale is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5. A list of sale sites will be available for pickup at City Hall the Tuesday prior to the sale. Email [email protected] or call 541-664-3321, ext. 130, by 4 p.m., Monday, April 30, to have an address included on the list. JC Master Gardeners A sale to benefit the Master Gardeners program will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the OSU Extension Service parking lot, 569 Hanley Road, Central Point. Master Gardeners encourage people who'd like to donate items for the sale to drop them off on sale day (the earlier the better; no shoes, computers or clothing). Book donations for the organization's Spring Garden Fair book booth can be dropped off inside the Master Gardener's office. Talent Yard Sale Talent's Saturday, May 12, sale comes with a map of sales locations and a lineup of events dubbed "ACCENT on Talent Day." The Firehouse Five Foundation will host a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at Talent Town Hall, 206 E. Main St. The Talent Library Club will host a book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 101 Home St., and spring plants will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by the Talent Garden Club in conjunction with a tomato plant sale by the Talent Historical Society. The event host, the Outdoor Discovery Program, will boast a large sale at its location, 309 W. Main St. To register a sale location, call City Hall or sign up at the Talent Ray's location by the close of business May 6. Maps will be available on sale day at Ray's, the library and the Outdoor Discovery Program. Phoenix Yard Sale The Phoenix Citywide Yard Sale will boast a single-day event Saturday, May 19, with spring plants courtesy of the Phoenix Garden Club at Ray's, and a published list of sale locations. Yard sales will run "sunup to sundown," with lots of residents getting in on the fun. A list and map of sale locations will be made available the week before the sale at Phoenix City Hall, Petro Country Store and Gypsy Trader.
