Senior-laden Mt. View tips Ashland boys in basketball BEND - Brandon Yon scored a game-high 23 points as a senior-laden Mountain View boys basketball team handed Ashland a 74-50 defeat on Tuesday. Titus Weston led the Grizzlies in the season-opening loss with 13 points. Ashland trailed by four after the opening quarter then was outscored 24-10 in the second period. "We came back and played them even (after the second quarter)," said Ashland coach John Skinner. "We're young, we're inexperienced and we have a lot of work to do before conference. But the effort is there." Mountain View, which has 11 seniors, lost to the Grizzlies in last season's opener. "They were more experienced than us and it showed," said Skinner. "That second quarter was the whole game for us." Bill Rowe added 12 points for Ashland, while Lance Streng, Brian Clevenger and Clint Bryan each scored six.
