Ducks rejoice in victory, but injuries dampen party EUGENE -- Oregon is ranked for the first time in this season, but the price paid in Saturday's 33-30 triple-overtime victory over Southern California may be steep. Oregon (3-2 overall, 1-0 Pac-10) moved up to No. 25 in the latest Associated Press Top 25. But with a crucial game at Washington coming up this Saturday, the Ducks may be without their best running back and their All-American kicker. Reuben Droughns suffered separated ribs and torn cartilage on his left side in the first half. He is doubtful for the Washington game. The injury is painful but not considered serious and will not require surgery, Oregon sports information director David Williford said. Kicker Nathan Villegas injured his kicking knee (right) during Oregon's celebration at the end of regulation. Villegas was scheduled to have a magnetic resonance imaging test, and the team won't know the results until today. Villegas had kicked the tying field goal from 26 yards out with 30 seconds left when holder Joey Harrington jumped on the 5-foot-9, 165-pound kicker's back, and Villegas came down hard on his knee. Oregon now plays its next three games on the road -- at Washington, UCLA and Arizona -- and has to wait until Arizona State on Oct. 30 to play its next game at Autzen Stadium, where the Ducks have won a school-record 11 home games.
